Located south of the 94 freeway and east of Golden Hill, Grant Hill has the best view of the San Diego Bay. The Grant Hill Park is said to have the most panoramic views of the Coronado Bay Bridge, the San Diego Bay, the Ball Park and the Downtown areas. Grant Hill, just like Golden Hill, attracts people because of its wonderful and colorful historic homes.
Logan Heights is one of the oldest communities in the City of San Diego and is rich in character. You can travel along the Imperial Avenue Corridor and witness the cultural influence that the residents bring to the community. What genuinely makes Logan Heights unique is an aerial view of the community, which shows that street patterns follow the bay instead of a compass.
Most commonly known for its "peace" mural depicting the faces of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Mahatma Gandhi, Memorial consists of the neighborhoods just west of the 15 freeway and north of the 5 freeway just below Imperial Avenue.

Mountain View is an urban community in the southeastern section of the city of San Diego. Stockton is one of three communities (including Grant Hill and Logan Heights) working together to empower residents to revitalize their neighborhoods. Stockton is working toward creating better housing and safer streets/parks. It houses older homes and is culturally-diverse. A unique aspect is that commercial services are provided by small commercial centers, "mom-and-pop" shops, all around the community.
The 25,000-square-foot facility opened in 2009 through a partnership with the San Diego Unified School District and features a large community room, computer lab and a cultural center for programs, exhibits and displays.
Mountain View was dedicated in 1914, and was one of the first parks to be dedicated in San Diego. People still talk about the great car shows that took place in the park back in the 1960s.
The Sherman Heights Community Center (SHCC) was founded in 1984 and serves about 20,000 residents a year who live in Sherman Heights and the nearby communities of Grant Hill, Logan Heights, Barrio Logan, San Ysidro and other South Bay communities.
The Memorial Recreation Center Summer Day Camp is for children ages 6-12. Kids will participate in a variety of activities, arts and crafts, games, sports, as they have fun in a safe environment. Weekly fee includes breakfast, lunch, and a field trip.
The center was dedicated in July 1978 and is located inside the Martin Luther King Elementary School grounds near the playground. Outside there is one multi purpose field, one softball field, two jungle gyms and lighted basketball courts. Inside there are two multi purpose rooms, and a small kitchen.
The Southcrest Civic Club built the original building at this site, then donated it to the City of San Diego. Materials and labor were donated by local merchants, residents and labor unions. The center was dedicated in 1950. The center offers outdoor and indoor basketball courts, tot lot, weight room, community center. and Teen Center.
The facility offers four ball fields (one baseball field, two softball fields and one youth ball field), three multi purpose fields for soccer and football, two outdoor multi purpose courts for basketball and volleyball, two tot lots, picnic areas and a field house offering two meeting rooms, a kitchen and restrooms.
Completed in 2018, Southcrest Trails Neighborhood Park, on Boston Avenue west of South 38th Street, was part of a $3 million project that brought an amphitheater, a basketball court, a skate park, and other outdoor structures to the Southcrest neighborhood of San Diego.
Located at 2660 J Street, Grant Hill Neighborhood Park offers bike and foot paths, a children's playground, spacious lawns for sports and gatherings, and a full-size basketball court.
